CROSSTOWN X MAKER’S MARK: THE BOURBON & BUTTERSCOTCH DOUGHNUT
We’ve partnered with the legends at Maker’s Mark to create a new limited edition flavour – The Maker’s Mark Bourbon & Butterscotch. This delicious boozy doughnut is available in all Crosstown locations from 27 September to 30 October 2019.
Crosstown and Maker’s Mark share a passion for handcraftsmanship and high-quality, fresh ingredients, – making the partnership a natural fit.
The handcrafted doughnut features our signature black cocoa sourdough, filled with a Maker’s Mark Kentucky Bourbon custard, topped with homemade butterscotch icing and finished with a red winter wheat. It’s then topped with a homemade mixed nut crumble, made of macadamia nuts, almonds and pine nuts, and finished with a signature red cross, individually hand-piped onto every doughnut. The red X represents Maker’s Mark’s signature red wax seal, an iconic look of the Maker’s Mark brand that we were keen to incorporate into the doughnut.
The Maker’s Mark Bourbon & Butterscotch doughnut is launching just in time for the tenth anniversary of London Cocktail Week, which runs from 4 – 13 October with locations across the capital. A dough bite (mini doughnut) version of the new flavour will be available at the Maker’s Mark truck in Cocktail Village at Brick Lane, where it will be served alongside a handcrafted cocktail menu that includes the Toasted Marshmallow Old Fashioned, Blueberry Old Fashioned, Mint Julep Highball and Star Hill Spritz. The full-size Maker’s Mark Bourbon & Butterscotch doughnut is available in all Crosstown locations (excluding vegan-only locations) until 30 October 2019.
Maker’s Mark started distilling classic American straight bourbon whiskey in 1953. Every bottle is produced in Loretto, Kentucky, a small town that’s home to only 700 people. Maker’s Mark is dedicated to tradition, and maintains the same high standards and processes that first made the whiskey popular in the 1950’s. This means that processes in the Maker’s Mark distillery are still done by hand, including barrel rotation and label cutting. Every bottle is even hand-dipped in piping-hot red wax, which seals the bottle and gives each one its own unique style. Maker’s Mark truly lives up to its slogan, ‘Hand-crafted. Hand-in-hand.’
If you can’t make it to a Crosstown shop or a Maker’s Mark event, you can order the Maker’s Mark Bourbon & Butterscotch doughnut on-demand through our online delivery service from 27 September – 30 October 2019.
