Celebrate London Cocktail Week with Crosstown’s Absinthe Dough Bite
Calendars at the ready, London Cocktail Week, proclaimed ‘the biggest city-wide celebration of cocktails in the world’, is returning from Thursday 13th October – Sunday 23rd October.
To celebrate, we’re launching our cocktail-inspired dough bite, The Green Fairy (ve), celebrating the resurgance (among the Gen Z population) of the European, anise-flavoured spirit, absinthe – we’ll drink to that.
Historically, absinthe has been known as a highly alcoholic spirit, with its name deriving from the Greek word “apsinthion”, originated in Switzerland in the late 18th century. This iconic tipple rose to popularity among artists and writers in France in the 19th century.
The Green Fairy (ve) is filled with a pineapple and absinthe custard, dipped in a citrusy lemon, lime, and elderflower liqueur glaze, finished with coconut chips, dried pineapple, and crystallised mint, all crafted on our award-winning vegan sourdough.
In true fashion of the week-long cocktail celebration, the latest addition to the Crosstown line-up has been drawn from one specific cocktail, The Fairy Godmother.
The Fairy Godmother combines the famous ‘green fairy’ with juice from pineapple, lemon, and limes and elderflower liqueur, creating an unique citrusy, tropical flavour with a kick of anise, which packs a punch.
The Green Fairy highlights the intense flavour profiles from The Fairy Godmother, using a Pineapple and absinthe custard to balance the flavour of the anise-flavoured spirit mixed with Pineapple juice, while the glaze combines the lemon, lime and elderflower components.
So, whether you’re looking to celebrate the art of cocktail making with friends with The Green Fairy fifteen-pack, or are just looking for a sweet treat which packs a punch, our latest dough bite will do the trick – bottoms up.
